The installation, repair and modification of industrial equipment requires a working knowledge of materials, machine tooling, welding, rigging and transportation. Typically, this work is too complicated and risky for most in-house maintenance groups, so companies rely on North American Millwright Services, Inc to provide these specialized capabilities for them. In order for the MTA to expand service on the light rail to Hunt Valley, more power was needed. The transformers needed to be hauled and installed through some residential areas. We must be backed underneath of the Baltimore Beltway for waiting cranes to unload.

A boiler measuring 14' wide x 19' tall x 40' long and weighing 250,000 lbs. was installed by bringing it up the bay, depositing it on a dock and rolling it into the boiler room underneath of the conveyor so as not to shut down the plant.
